Infrared Sauna

How does an infrared sauna work?

It uses infrared light to heat your body directly rather than warming the air around you like traditional saunas. The infrared waves penetrate the skin, raising your core body temperature to induce a deep, detoxifying sweat at lower temperatures (typically 120–150°F or 49–65°C). At FitPerform Recovery & Wellness, you can expect the temperature of our infrared sauna to range between 140–165°F.

Benefits:

  • Promotes detoxification through sweat
  • Boosts circulation and promotes recovery
  • Eases muscular tension and joint pain
  • Reduces stress and supports relaxation
  • Enhances skin health
  • May support better sleep and overall wellness

How often can I do an Infrared Sauna session?

  • Infrared saunas are safe and effective to use multiple times per week, and some people enjoy it daily for maximum benefits—especially for detox, relaxation, or muscle recovery.
  • Sessions at FitPerform Recovery & Welness last 30 minutes. If you are new or a beginner to saunas, we recommend building up your tolerance by taking short breaks during your first couple sessions. Always remember to hydrate before and after a session.
  • Consistency is key—sweat your way to better health.

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy uses low-level wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to penetrate the skin and stimulate cellular energy (ATP) production as it targets the mitochondria of the cell. This non-invasive treatment helps energize your cells, promoting faster recovery, smoother skin, and an overall sense of well-being.

Benefits:

  • Speeds up healing and tissue repair
  • Reduces inflammation and pain
  • Promotes hair, skin, and nail health through collagen production
  • Supports muscle recovery and performance
  • May enhance mood and reduce signs of aging

How often can I do Red Light Therapy?

  • Frequency of sessions for red light therapy depend on your overall goals. Red light therapy is safe to do 3–5 times per week, and some people use it daily for targeted goals like skin rejuvenation, pain relief, or recovery. Sessions at FitPerform Recovery & Wellness will be 20 minutes total as we recommend 10 minutes for the front side and 10 minutes for the back side of your body.
  • For best results, consistency is key—think of it like a workout for your cells. Most people begin to see benefits within a few weeks of regular use.

What’s the difference between Red Light Therapy vs. Infrared Sauna?

Infrared saunas and red light therapy are two clinically-proven treatments that offer a range of natural health benefits. They work well as complementary therapies, but rely on very different biological mechanisms of action to produce those health benefits. Both treatments harness the power of light—but in different ways. Red light therapy targets your cells to promote healing, skin rejuvenation, and faster recovery without heat. Infrared saunas use gentle heat to warm the body from within, helping you detox, relax, and relieve muscle tension.

Choose red light therapy when you want to boost skin health, speed recovery, or reduce inflammation—no sweat required.

Choose an infrared sauna session when you need deep relaxation, full-body detox, or soothing heat for sore muscles.

Different goals, same glow-up. Try them solo—or combine for the ultimate wellness boost.

WHAT IS PEMF?

Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields!

Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields or PEMF is an innovative approach to wellness to rejuvenate the body. By harnessing the natural power of these magnetic fields, PEMF provides a non-invasive way to boost cellular metabolism. PEMF can penetrate deep into tissues, which may lead to a variety of health benefits, such as increased circulation, reduced inflammation, pain relief, and enhanced cellular repair.

In the early 2000s, NASA funded a four-year study led by Dr. Robert Dennis to research the potential of PEMF to stimulate growth and repair in mammalian tissues. The challenges of space travel, including microgravity and increased exposure to harmful radiation, can have adverse effects on human health, such as bone density loss, muscle atrophy, and other physiological issues.

How does PEMF work?

Our PEMF machine produces electromagnetic fields by pulsing a current through an attachment or coil. This creates the magnetic fields which vary in frequency, and intensity depending on the settings of the machine and the attached coil.

Why does it work?

Every mammalian cell has an electrical charge, crucial for its functions. Over time, due to stress, age, or disease, these charges can diminish. PEMF acts like a “battery charger” for the cells, restoring their natural charge and enhancing their performance.

How often can I do PEMF?

PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) is safe to use daily, especially when addressing pain, inflammation, or recovery. For general wellness, 3–5 sessions per week can support circulation, cellular repair, and stress reduction. Since PEMF works by recharging your cells, regular use helps maintain long-term benefits. Recommendations on how frequently you should use PEMF can be made according to your specific needs.

How often can I do Halo Salt Therapy?

Halo therapy (salt therapy) is gentle, natural, and safe for regular use. For general wellness and respiratory support, 1–2 sessions per week can help maintain clear breathing and skin health.

For specific concerns—like allergies, asthma, congestion, or skin conditions—many people benefit from doing it 3–5 times per week during flare-ups or seasonal changes. At FitPerform Recovery & Wellness, a session will last 10 minutes.

Breathe easier, feel better—naturally. Consistency brings the best results.

How should I prepare for an appointment?

Appointment preparation depends on the services you have booked. Once you have booked an appointment with us, please allow yourself enough time to find us on the day of your appointment. There is open onsite parking for our building located on Broadway. If you park in those structures, you may take the stairs or elevator up one floor and walk to the end of the hallway where you will find us at suite 107.

We recommend coming dressed in comfortable athletic clothing. If you book a service that may involve excessive sweating such as infrared sauna or a VO2 max test, we recommend bringing an extra set of clothes to change into afterwards as there are no showers on site. You are welcome to bring your own water for hydration, but water will be available at our studio.

Do we accept walk-ins?

Yes, walk-ins are accepted. Although we cannot guarantee specific appointment availability at your time of walk-in, we highly encourage you to call us in advance to check availability prior to your walk-in. You may also book online at https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule/35a9cec9
